Consejos para que la granja acepte mi solicitud

Para que cualquier granjero/a preste atención a nuestra solicitud, hemos de escribir una buena carta de presentación.

Para ello, recomiendo que se cree una carta genérica que variará levemente en función de la granja a la que enviemos la solicitud.

En mi caso, el correo electrónico genérico que envié fue el siguiente:

Hello "name of the farmer"!!I´m Fidel, my brother Francisco and I would love to come to England to wwoof at your place!!. Both of us are quite experienced at working in the countryside and farming, because we grew up in the countryside of Andalucía in Spain. Every day we used to milk the goats by hand and were taking care of chickens,pigs,turkeys etc. As well we cultivated a great variety of vegetables and fruit trees in an ecological way and other typical farm work. Now we would love to see how this all works in England, and we both are interested in getting to know a new culture and meeting new people. We would love to practise lots of English, we are fond of its sound and can´t wait to spend a whole month abroad in a different country, being surrounded by people speaking English.I am eighteen years old and my older brother is 21. None of us is vegetarian, nor smoker, nor allergic to anything. Above all we appreciate to get to know a nice family and we are

basically interested in anything that is different and new for us. Until now we have never been abroad, but we keep meeting many different people from other countries and that is how we became so interested in travelling and other cultures. We can´t wait to discover England and its green countryside! We will be in the UK approximately from the 25th of July till the 28th of August. If you have any more questions please let us know! Consejos:

1. Sé amable. Esta es la regla número uno. Si quieres que se interesen por tí, es muy importante que en tu email no falten expresiones como "Thanks", " If you have any more questions please let us know!", "Now we would love to see how this all works in England", etc.
2. Haz que tu solicitud rebose de felicidad: escribe lo ilusionado que estás con tu futura aventura, pasma las ganas que tienes de salir a conocer inglaterra, escribe signos de admiración. Ej. " If you host wwoofers around this time we´d be happy to come in our summer vacations!"
3. Sé inteligente. Antes de enviar un email a una determinada granja, procura leer bien la descripción e intenta buscar cosas en común. Por ejemplo, si a una determinada granja le encantan los perros y a ti también, plasma tu pasión por este animal. Intenta siempre buscar cosas en común y ponlas en tu solicitud, pero no mientas porque, como bien dice el refrán: "se pilla antes a un mentiroso que a un cojo"
4. Descríbete favorablemente, dí todo lo que sabes hacer, todo lo que te gustaría hacer y todo lo que estás dispuesto a hacer.
5. Por último, intenta hacer una buena conclusión, a ser posible divertida. Por ejemplo, si vas a ir a inglaterra, puedes hablar del té ("I am a fan of English tea,and would love to discover different kinds of it.I got introduced to PG and Tetleys  not long ago,PG is my favourite :)!! Fidel"), puedes hablar de una comida típica de tu país ("I could for example teach you some Spanish or teach you how to make Tortilla Española!!") o simplemente puedes decir que tienes muchísimas ganas de visitar inglaterra y que no puedes esperar más tiempo.
6. Revisa que no tengas ninguna falta de ortografía. Si tu inglés no es perfecto, puedes pedir ayuda a algún conocido.
7. Intenta siempre decir la verdad y darle un cierto toque de humor para que no sea la típica solicitud aburrida.
